A Great Song By The Band “America”..Kinda Captures The Ocean

AMERICA: “A Horse With No Name”

On the first part of the journey
I was looking at all the life
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings
The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz
And the sky with no clouds
The heat was hot and the ground was dry
But the air was full of sound

I’ve been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
‘Cause there ain’t no one for to give you no pain
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la la…
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la la…

After two days in the desert sun
My skin began to turn red
After three days in the desert fun
I was looking at a river bed
And the story it told of a river that flowed
Made me sad to think it was dead

You see I’ve been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
‘Cause there ain’t no one for to give you no pain
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la la…

After nine days I let the horse run free
‘Cause the desert had turned to sea
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings
The ocean is a desert with its life underground
And a perfect disguise all above
Under the cities lies a heart made of ground
But the humans will give no love

You see I’ve been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
‘Cause there ain’t no one for to give you no pain
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la la… [repeats]

Yet Another…Interesting Day

So I may have mentioned that it rained last night. It did briefly.

Woke up and spent the morning studying in the apartment to cloudy, basically overcast skies.

There were some puddles on the road as I walked to work.

I got to the Dive Center about 1130am as prep for our 1pm dive. And it started pouring hard. For about an hour as we prepped the boat. It was actually quite refreshing. We loaded everybody up and go them going and the bay and then the sea were like GLASS. Like a lake, a pool, a bath. No current, no waves.

But we had a layer of jelly fish. Ugh. Only 2 of 20 got hit by the jellyfish. Nothing to note on the dives but a couple big crabs, an eagle ray, a sting ray and some goofiness from some of the dive masters.

The punchline is that the windlessness and the puddles have already spawned some serious bugs. Gnats right now but I fear the mosquitos loom.

All good though. I got some bug spray and nets.

Only a few things left in my DM book to get approved. Should be done by Friday PM.

PS: The bugs mean that GEICO has arrived.

This Gecko was on the hunt.

Tuk-Tuk

Someone asked what a Tuk-Tuk was.

There are few cars here. This is a taxi here.

Tuk-Tuks are basically like centaurs…haha. Half motorcycle, half car.

$2 to go across town.
